How it works

From sign-up to next season.

Here is the whole journey — what you do, what your coaches and players do, and what everyone remembers. Four acts. One draft night people talk about all season.

Act One

Before the season

Ten quiet minutes at the kitchen table. That is all it takes to set up a draft people will talk about for weeks.

  1. 1You

    Start in a minute.

Grab a free draft or pick a plan. Tell us your name, your league, and your email — that is the whole signup. No sales call, no demo you have to sit through.

  2. 2You

    Create your draft.

Name it, pick your sport, set the draft date and how many teams you need. Your draft room exists before your coffee gets cold.

  3. 3You

    Bring your players.

Paste a list, drop in a spreadsheet, or pull from your registration. Players become permanent records on your account — their history and rankings follow them into every future draft, so next season starts smarter.

  4. 4You

    Invite your coaches.

Each coach gets a link to their own view. No app to download, no account gymnastics — it opens on their phone and it is theirs.

  5. 5You

Set the rules of your league.

Rounds, the pick clock, a salary cap if you want one, friends and couples kept together, random picks to keep it fair. Start with sensible defaults; change anything you like.

  6. 6You

    Make it yours.

Your logo and colors on the board. On Growth and up, sponsors ride between picks and on the big screen — the part of draft night that pays for draft night.

Act Two

Building the buzz

The week before the draft is when a league becomes a community. Everyone gets something to do.

  1. 7You

    Send one link.

Share the lobby code and draft link with players and families. One link covers everything: where to watch, when it starts, and later, where everyone landed.

  2. 8Players

Players check in from their phones.

They see the pool, who else signed up, and their own profile. For a lot of them this is the first time the league has felt like a team they are about to join.

  3. 9Coaches

    Coaches do their homework.

They scout the pool, read player profiles, and build a pre-draft queue so they walk in with a plan — even if they will be drafting from the bleachers.

  4. 10Families

    Families save the date.

Parents, grandparents, and friends get the same link. Nobody needs an account to watch.

Act Three

Draft night

This is the show. You press one button; everything else runs itself.

  1. 11You

    Check, lock, go.

A readiness check confirms the pool is locked, the rules add up, and every team is set. Then one button: start the draft.

  2. 12Everyone

    Every pick lands.

Each selection hits the screen with a full animated reveal — the name, the team, who is on the clock next, and the scouting notes your coaches wrote — the kind that gets a laugh. The room reacts. Every time.

  3. 13The room

Put it on the big screen.

Projector and jumbotron mode fill the wall at the bar, the gym, or the field house. Stream it live for anyone who could not make it.

  4. 14Fans

The fans at home are in it too.

Live chat and cheer reactions that float across every screen when their player’s name comes up. Grandma watches her grandkid get drafted from her couch — and tells everyone about it.

  5. 15You

    You stay in control.

Pause for a reason, let the clock autopick for a coach who stepped away, move or fix a pick. The draft keeps moving, and so does the night.

Act Four

After the last pick

The draft ends. The season — and the league people keep coming back to — begins.

  1. 16Everyone

    Everyone knows their team.

Rosters build the moment the last pick is in. No spreadsheet to send, no “where did I go?” texts at midnight.

  2. 17You

    Share the results.

Results go out by email to every coach with one click. And because everyone watched the board fill in live, nobody wonders how the teams were made — complaints drop, trust goes up.

  3. 18Teams

    Suit up.

Team apparel is custom to order — jerseys and shirts for the teams you just built. Talk to us and we will put a package together.

  4. 19The league

    Closer games, all season.

Talent spread across teams means fewer blowouts and more games that come down to the last play. Newcomers found a team on day one — and they stick around.

  5. 20You

    Next season starts smarter.

Your players are still on your account with their history. Run the next draft in minutes, redraft mid-season, or track rankings across seasons on Program.

Under the hood

The technical specs.

Everything the software actually does, in one place — for the commissioner who wants the details and the person who has to sign off.

Draft formats & rules

  • Snake order — odd rounds forward, even rounds reverse
  • Rounds and a pick clock you set (defaults: 10 rounds, 90 seconds a pick)
  • When the clock runs out: autopick, commissioner picks, or wait
  • Pick order generated for you — or decided live with the Draft Order Game race
  • Random picks (single or couples) with a choice of reveal timing
  • Friends and couples kept together on the same team
  • Salary cap: simple range or advanced templates, per-team adjustments, or waive it
  • Roster rules: women minimums and maximums, position limits, each enforceable on or off
  • Your own house rules, written out for everyone to see
  • A rules check before you start that flags anything that cannot work

Commissioner controls

  • Start, pause, resume and end the draft
  • Add time to a pick (up to five minutes)
  • Undo the last pick — the clock goes back too
  • Skip a team, mark a team absent, or make a pick for any team
  • Pre-place players and queue picks before the draft
  • Lock the player pool so nothing changes once you are ready
  • Reset or restart a draft when you need a do-over
  • One switch to turn spectators off, and a message banner for the lobby

Coach tools

  • Draft from any phone or laptop — nothing to install
  • One drafter per team at a time, so picks never collide
  • Hand the pick to a guest if a coach cannot be there
  • A personal pick queue to walk in with a plan
  • Scouting reports on players, reviewed by the commissioner
  • Practice drafts in a separate room before the real one
  • Long drafts over days, with pick windows and email reminders

Players & data

  • Import players from a spreadsheet (template provided) or sync from registration
  • Player profiles with survey answers, photo and hometown
  • Hidden-identity drafts: swap names for aliases, reveal after the draft
  • Hide usernames when you want the board anonymous
  • Player records carry forward to future drafts on your account

Draft night display

  • Full-screen animated reveal for every pick — the clock waits for it
  • A broadcast link for the projector or TV: read-only, no controls on screen
  • A step-by-step guide to stream to YouTube or Facebook
  • A 4-letter lobby code for fans; no account needed to watch
  • Live chat with separate audience and coach rooms, moderation, and cheer reactions

Branding & sponsors

  • Your logo, colors and light or dark theme on the board
  • Custom draft themes for bigger events
  • Sponsor logos, sponsored “lucky pick” moments, and between-pick sponsor screens
  • Draft night audio

After the last pick

  • A balancing step to fix anything before rosters are final
  • Roster audit checks (late adds, quits, unpaid) with one-click fixes
  • Publish rosters to every team in one step
  • Email results and coach welcome messages, with a preview first
  • Export a player kit spreadsheet for jerseys and sizing

Admin, security & control

  • Role-based access: commissioners run the draft, coaches pick for their team, fans watch
  • Every draft is kept separate from every other draft
  • An action log of every commissioner change — who did what, and when
  • Spectator and broadcast views are read-only; they can never touch the board
  • Chat moderation: remove messages and ban for the event
  • Lock the pool and the rules before anyone picks
